What is montessori education fund, inc (mefi)?
The Montessori House Education Fund (MEFI) is a public charity 501(c) (3) Organization, qualified by the IRS to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under the tax code.
The dollars raised by the PAV contributes to the MEFI Educational Services component. This is used for community outreach and benefits, assistance towards professional development, and parent education.
All contributions to this fund support educational services for students and faculty and are tax deductible under section 170 of the IRS Code.
Special projects that spring from the minds of children and parents are fun and fulfilling pursuits. We have parent committees to assist and oversee these ventures. Occasionally a committee will ask that a spirit night or special event be held to help provide materials for projects. The purpose of each event will be clearly stated and the sponsoring committee will have oversight.
The School holds a major family event each year and asks for donations from local businesses, parents and the general public. Proceeds go to the Montessori House Education Fund, Inc.
If a family is unable to participate, an annual gift of any amount will show that the family supports the School’s Mission and Purpose.
Through the services provided by MEFI, families, students, and teachers can receive educational benefits that would not be possible from tuition revenue only.
Legacy Walls are being created in celebration of the inaugural year for the Elementary School building. Children’s artwork (or handprints) will be created on ceramic tiles to adorn the walls of either Montessori House for Children, and/or the Montessori House Elementary School. Families are able to purchase a tile (artwork or handprint) designed by their child.
